At the Back of Beyond Equine Centre, the horse's care and well being is of the utmost importance.
The barn is bright and comfortable with roomy (12 by 10 foot) well ventilated stalls with screened windows and mats. In addition, the ceilings are insulated to moderate the temperature, there is a closed circuit TV link to the house and the entire building is monitored for fire 24/7. At the end of the barn, there is a grooming stall with excellent lighting, rubber mats and radiant heaters. Attached to the barn is a 120 by 60 foot arena with excellent well maintained footing and adequate lighting, perfect for all types of riding and training.
Every horse on the farm has their own individual nutrition program balanced and fed to their particular needs. The hay that is fed is top quality, cored and tested to ensure nutritional balance and suitability and is fed free choice.

The paddocks and fields are separately fenced and maintained with the safety of a variety of horses in mind. Many of the paddocks have single or double run in sheds for shelter and shade. Horses are turned out in small groups or individually, depending on what suits their social and emotional needs best.
There is also a fenced (90 ft by 140 foot), outside riding ring with screenings on sand footing. This ring is high on the hill, overlooking the barn, so it has an excellent view and picks up a cooling breeze on a hot day. There is also a 6O foot screenings on sand round pen for training and exercise and an outdoor wash area close to the barn.

The trails at the Back of Beyond Equine Centre are a photographer's, naturalist's and rider's paradise. They wind their way through the acreage and cover a variety of terrain from wide sandy cart trails, babbling brook crossings and deep woods. It is not unusual to see deer grazing in the open meadows or sauntering through the forest. There are, of course, many types of birds (both forest and meadow species) and an abundance of rabbits, squirrels, partridge and chipmunks and other small animals. Occasionally a red fox or fisher can be seen.
