Back of Beyond Equine Centre

Back of Beyond Equine Centre is nestled on 95 acres in the heart of cottage country in Muskoka, Ontario. The Centre is truly in the “Back of Beyond”, secluded and private - one km from the main road. It is also a short drive from the picturesque Town of Huntsville and the quaint village of Port Sydney. See our Map

Back of Beyond Equine Centre is owned and operated by Cathy Foyston and Bill Statten. Cathy and Bill have both had horses all their lives and were married at the Equine Centre, up on the high pasture, surrounded by both their human and equine friends.

Bill is head of maintenance at his family's camp, Taylor Statten Camp, in Algonquin Park and has had horses all his life. Bill especially enjoys

(besides roast beef and potatoes) playing with the foals, creating innovative methods of management, and going on an occasional trail ride.

Cathy also has a lifetime of experience and is certified to teach Equine Assisted Learning. She is adept at meeting the needs of the whole horse (social, emotional, intellectual and physical) and ensures each horse receives optimal nutrition, expert handling and the right amount of exercise in a safe and stimulating environment.
